BIO: Kate Devlin, PhD, is Professor of Artificial Intelligence & Society, King's College London, where she is Chair-Director of the Digital Futures Institute — established to explore how we can live well with technology. She is an interdisciplinary computer scientist investigating how people interact with and react to technologies, both past and future, socially, psychologically, and culturally. Kate is the author of Turned On: Science, Sex and Robots (Bloomsbury, 2018), which examines the ethical and social implications of technology and intimacy, including robots and AI companions. Kate is a Co-I on the UKRI Responsible AI UK programme (rai.ac.uk) — a network that conducts and funds research into AI to benefit people, communities, and society.
