"Power has been defined as the ability to direct or influence the behavior of others.  However, Oprah Winfrey's definition of power truly resonates with me.  She describes power as the "ability to impact with purpose." From my perspective, power starts with the clarity of intention.  When we effect change, compete for resources, forge consensus, leverage relationships, strengthen positions, and further our team's reputation, we are engaging in acts of power and influence. The point of having power is to use it in a meaningful and authentic way.  My intentions around how I engage with and lead others is clear.  The power that I have acquired over the years is a privilege that I will never abuse.  I am a woman becoming.....becoming more powerful with age and experience.  I haven't even scratched the surface in terms of what I want to be, what I want to achieve, and what I'd like to contribute to the world.  The joy of power is an intriguing and multi-faceted concept.  For me, the unknown IS the joy of power!"
